In support of the #SmartNationTogether online channel, Code Ninja is proud to partner Smart Nation and Digital Government Office to offer this complimentary 60 minutes coding workshop for students aged 5 to 12 years old.
Students below 9 years should be accompanied by an adult to assist with the lesson.
Short Description
At this workshop, children and parents get to create, customise and play a digital defence themed game!
While raising awareness on digital defence among our young ones, they will also be exposed to coding concepts such as:
1. Scratch interface basics
- Navigate Scratch's platform - a free and collaborative coding site to make interactive stories, games, and animations.
2. Positioning & movements
- Learn the essentials of Scratch coding, such as positioning and movements. Get introduced to key commands such as move(), glide() and go to x: () y: ().
3. Iterations & loops
- Learn how to iterate over code and create loops using "repeat" and "forever" blocks - perfect for programming games!
4. Conditional statement
- Conditional is one of the most powerful programming tools you can use to make decisions. We'll show you how to use "if-then" blocks together with "if-else" blocks to make your code react to different actions.
